Fondamia grew from a week Ciki never forgot. When her cat Strawberry was just over a year old, an accidentally swallowed hair tie led to emergency surgery and acute pancreatitis. For days, Strawberry’s recovery was uncertain.

Strawberry pulled through, but the experience changed how Ciki understood the place a pet holds in a family. It made the possibility of sudden loss feel real and revealed how deeply a familiar face, routine, and presence become woven into everyday life.

Together with fellow co-founder Ricky, she created Fondamia to make remembrance feel more personal—not like choosing a generic object, but like finding a thoughtful way to hold on to the details that belonged to one particular companion.
